Things to come (now past... Updated)

Epsom - On Wednesday, the newbies, Lenia, Simon and I went down to the Atkins Head Office in Epsom for an Inductance Event. We left at the crack of dawn to try avoid the traffic, but we were unsuccessful, and after encountering a roadworks, an accident, hideous traffic, and some problems with SatNav we finally reached Epsom 5 hours later (should have taken 3 hours). The inductance was interesting. We listened to a few speakers, chatted with other staff, and ate some good food. They also gave us a free branded gifts. I got a wind-up radio. Interesting! I have to say that the Epsom Office are very jacked up socially and there is a lot going on (from sports clubs to theatre visits)!

Bowling
After rushing back from Epsom, Lenia and I headed out to the Atkins bowling night with other friends from the office. It was a fun evening, and even though our 3rd team member only arrived half way though (as she went to the wrong bowling alley), she managed to get the highest score of the three of us.

After bowling, a group of us headed out to Charter's (a local pub, on a boat in the river Nene), where we had a few more drinks and some good chatting!!

Tea at Jayne and Don's
The long weekend started out well with High Tea at Jayne and Don's. Rosie and I arrived laden with soaking washing (the washing machine broke that afternoon) and were treated to a free laundry service and excellent meal cooked by Chef Don. The meal consisted of popodoms with lime and yoghurt for starters, followed by curry, rice and naan bread. Very tasty!!

After that us girls sat gossiping and chatting, while drinking wine and Bailey's (yummy) and Don complained about Rosie's taste in music, rolled his eyes at the gossip and tried not to fall asleep. In between he did also do the washing up, serve drinks and infrom us that the washing was spun!! Good job Don!!
