My New Year's Eve was a very quiet affair, spent at home with my family. Midnight was signalled by a live broadcast on SABC 2, of a wonderful New Year show put on at one of the Barnyard theatres. In our neighbourhood fireworks were loud and beautiful (much to poor Kerry's dismay - she ended up under the table) and as usual my dad had the bagpipe music pumping after the traditional rendition of Auld Lang Syne. I might not be in SA next year for New Year's, so it was lovely to spend time with my family.
